successful affiliateAsk questions first before you join an affiliate program. Do a little research about the choices of program that you intend to join into. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on.

Will it cost you anything to join? Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. So why settle for those that charge you some dollars before joining.

When do they issue the commission checks? Every program is different. Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Many affiliate programs are setting a minimum earned commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale.

How are referrals from an affiliate’s site tracked and for how long do they remain in the system? You need to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale. The period of time that those people stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day.

What are the kinds of affiliate stats available? Your choice of affiliate program should be capable of offering detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you decide to check them out. Constantly checking your individual stats is important to know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is really for you and your site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single tier program pays you only for the business you yourself have generated. A two tier program pays you for the business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% – 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% – .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. As you can see from the figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.

These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for you site from among the many available.

In Online MLM Education is Power

mlm-puzzle-piecesDo you tear your hair out trying to do all the tasks on your online MLM marketing calendar? If so, then you are not alone. Many newbies to the online MLM industry have a hard time keeping up with this marketing method, and that’s where ongoing education comes in handy. In this article I detail ways in which you can get an online education at the same time that you do your regular online promotional activities.

Why Ongoing Education Helps with Online MLM
My buddy’s frustration is quite typical of newbies to the world of doing MLM online. I find that what helps these people the most is education. “Education is power” is one of my upline sponsor’s mottos, and it applies very much to a person who wants to successfully promote online. Other relevant mottos (just in case you want to know) are:

- Don’t hit on people.
- Do not close people.
- Be realistic. Do not make pie-in-the-sky claims.
- Do not pitch-answer questions instead.

These four mottos are very important, but I think this fifth one about education may be the most important of all when it comes to online marketing. While the MLM industry as a whole has become more credible and solid over the last few decades, the basic offline promotional techniques have remained the same. It’s important to be educated in these offline techniques, but they don’t change much so once you master them you’re in fat city.

The online world is completely different. It’s fast-paced, constantly changing, and demands constant learning. Even web marketing leaders like Chris Brogan, Brian Clark, and Seth Godin are continually revamping their ideas of what’s possible, practical, and people-friendly for the average Joe when it comes to online marketing. In a world that moves this fast, ongoing education is a “have to” activity, not a “want to” kind of thing.

How to Educate Yourself in Online MLM Marketing
If you are like my buddy, you’re probably scratching your head (if not actively tearing out your hair) trying to figure out how you’re going to fit yet one more task–ongoing education–into your already impossible online MLM marketing plan. You’re probably blogging, article marketing, forum marketing, and doing SEO. Or maybe you’re just blogging and having a hard time keeping up with just that.

How in the world are you going to fit in education about online marketing? By making as many online marketing activities as possible serve double duty as learning experiences. Here are two examples of how your online activities can serve double duty.

1. Comment and Learn
To increase your online visibility, it’s always a good idea to read other people’s blogs and add insightful comments to their posts. Depending on whose blogs you read, the time you spend adding comments can also serve as classroom hours for your online marketing education. Choose to comment only on the blogs of thought leaders who are in line with your style of online marketing. This helps you in two ways: first, commenting on highly-ranked blogs will increase your online presence; second, you have to read the post before you can comment, and you are bound to learn something in the process.

When you comment on a blog post, really read the post first and think about what the author is trying to teach you. That way you actually learn something, and you can leave a comment that actually means something. Comments like “Great post. I liked it!” don’t really enhance your online presence. If you’re going to comment, learn something from the post, and then leave a comment that will add some benefit to the conversational thread. Leaving a good comment tells readers as much about your online marketing expertise as writing a good blog post. To see some really good comments, visit Chris Brogan’s blog or Copyblogger.

2. Article Marketing: Post and Research
If you are doing article marketing right, then you are taking the time to research strong, long-tail keywords that will drive traffic to your articles and your blogs/websites. Here’s a nifty trick. As you submit your article to one or two major directories do a search on your keywords and see what your competition is writing. You’ll learn something–whether it’s good, bad, or ugly. You’ll see some really great writing that you may want to emulate. You’ll see some really bad writing that will remind you not to be a slacker and write sloppy copy. And you’ll see some intriguing ideas that would never otherwise cross your mind. Taking just a few minutes to do a quick scan in the article directory after you submit your own articles will give you a quick but jam-packed education. It’s short and sweet.

I hope these help you tap into the free education that the online thought leaders are providing just about every single day of the week. “Learn while doing” is my motto when it comes to education in online MLM marketing.

What do you think? What works for you when it comes to educating yourself about online marketing in general, and online MLM specifically?

how-to-blog-blackboard-classroomIn recent years, blogging has become a new sort of art form.  In the sense that all writing is art, blogging is just another branch of that.  Many who spend the time creating and maintaining a blog are those who choose to use the internet as their means of sharing their thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, and everything about life in between.

Many people use these blogs to share themselves with others all over the world.  Those who choose to do so can easily set up an account with a blog provider and create their own personal journals.  This is a great avenue of expression for many.

Recently, however, trends have also shifted towards the use of business blogs.  These are used to promote companies or products.  Bloggers generally post articles that are relevant to the company or product and are intended to draw attention from potential customers. This can help to increase sales, thus becoming a profitable venture.

For those interested in creating a blog, consider the following tips to insure that your blog does exactly what you want it to do.

First of all, it is important to take into consideration the audience to whom you will be addressing.  No matter what your purpose, you have to generate a blog that will be interesting to them.  A blog is your voice, but you have to “speak” in a way that others can understand and will want to return in order to be successful.

Secondly, remember the importance of pictures.  Often, a good picture can say more than pages of writing.  Not only does it say what you cannot many times, but it also helps to make your blog more entertaining to browse.  This does not mean you have to post personal pictures of yourself.  Remember to be safe and also to protect the privacy of others, but you can post any photo that does not insult those who would be reading your blog.

Next, consider being constructive in your writing.  You blog can be on any topic, or lack thereof, that you wish, but consider using that avenue to be of some benefit to others.  Sure, you can write about anything you want, but it is often nice to include some articles that would be helpful to those reading your blog.  Provide some useful information instead of just entertainment.

Along the lines of keeping the interest of your readers, do not make a blog that is too technical or formal.  Using complicated techniques or extremely highly-educated language may turn off readers instead of welcoming them.  Remember that you can make quick factual statements and shorter blog comments instead of feeling that you have to make a lot of long entries.  You are generally not writing to an audience made up solely of scholars.

In addition, remember that most people who read blogs typically enjoy the internet by scanning for information.  You would be best advised to offer shorter statements and colorful pictures with article links than to offer long articles that readers may find too overwhelming.  As mentioned earlier, remember who your audience is.

Finally, if possible, add some sort of interactive function to your blog.  You can include videos or audio segments.  You can also have a guest book or comments area where readers can post their own thoughts in relation to what you have said.  You will be able to see how others react to your reactions about life.

Yes, even those blogs that are created for fun serve a purpose.  Whether you create a blog to sell a product or just sell your sense of humor to the rest of the world, a blog is a great avenue for creative writing.

Using Blogs to Make Money

blogs-bloggingPeople spend a lot of time online.  That is a fact about our society these days.  And it seems like the more time we spend online, the more ways people find to make the internet a profit making venture.  Relatively any type of business can find at least a little success online, so most now have some type of website of their own.  This gives business owners a chance to attract potential customers by offering information about their business via a sort of world wide billboard.  This is what has paved the way to using
blogs to make money.

Besides simply hosting a corporate website, many businesses have also ventured into the blogging industry.  Those who own businesses or are experts in a particular field can write articles or blogs about their particulare area of expertise.  They can display this knowledge quickly and easily and can reach an overwhelming number of people.  If good, knowledgable blogs are posted, readers will likely become repeat visitors and possibly eventual customers.

Blogging for money is something that is not limited to one specific business type.  There are a number of various fields within that general description.  Politicians use blogs to promote their agendas and attract potential voters and campaign financing.  Artists and musicians use blogs to let fans know how tours are going and where they are headed next and what types of projects they plan to attack in the future.  Athletes and other sports figures use blogs to talk about upcoming games, trades, and stats.  No matter the industry, blogs allow these businesses to find and keep potential fans and customers.

Clients can enjoy easy access to the blogs of businesses and corporations they in which they are interested.  When they are able to find accurate, timely, interesting information, they will eventually develop a level of trust because they appreciate the information being shared by the company.  Previously, there was not always a simple way for potential or existing clients to find information on the companies of interest and clients often were left wanting information with no way to get it.  Companies are now realizing that customers want details and want to know what is going on within the company.  This is being seen through comments left on corporation blogs.

As mentioned, blogs have become more and more popular as a money maker for internet users. There is content available through blogs of just about any interest that is appealing to vaaroius groups.  Many personal bloggers will allow advertisments to be posted and receive payment per click or a base payment for each ad posted.

Blogs may be best used by corporations to gather potential customers for their business. Or they may be for aspiring writers to express themselves and share their thoughts and feelings with the world.  Blogs are becoming more and more popular as a way to make a little extra money, whether through marketing of a product or per click advertising. Blogging is a business that helps to increase and grow other businesses.

CPA Marketing Defintion and Overview

yellowman_magnifying_glassI will not say that everybody who reads this article does know precisely what CPA is all about and so I’ll start with a quick overview that highlights exactly what CPA marketing is, and how it can make you money.

CPA (cost per action) is also called PPA (pay per action) and is a web based marketing opportunity that pays you based on a specific structure or model. For instance, if you took part in CPA offers, you would be paid each time a prospect completed a specific action, such as registering on a website, completing a form, signing up for an offer, or maybe just visiting a specific site.

The actions that a visitor has to take often range between a one time e-mail registration to lengthier form processing including three, four page surveys, application forms as well as downloading screen savers, demos, scripts and software.

While CPA offers vary and the requirements associated with beingcommissioned for an ‘action’, there are a surplus of extremely well paying Cost-Per-Action offers and programs that you can become involved in.

CPA marketing is, in fact, one of the easiest ways to make money on the internet with tiny effort compared with many of the traditional marketing campaigns and opportunities.

A lot of CPA Companies pay commissions anywhere from $.25 right up to $4.00 for a single e-mail opt-in form, with other CPA offers paying out as much as $150.00 for a more in-depth process or a more in depth obligation where your visitor may need to confirm their email address, accept a free trial offer and on occasion, your commission will only be paid weeks later once your visitor has completed the actions.

As an example, an advertising company pays the CPA program that you are a part of $10 for every lead generated as a consequence of their members process. In turn, the CPA company pays a commission of 70% from the $10, earning $3 for connecting you with the advertisers.

In order to start getting paid with CPA offers, you will need to enroll into a handful of CPA based programs. There are networks available on the internet that host an enormous variety of CPA offers, which makes it possible to join one web site and being given the chance to take part in multiple opportunities from several different companies.

CPA programs work as the middleman, connecting publishers and advertisers together, and typically coordinates the placement of opportunities from participating publishers and firms with affiliate marketers, in return for a little fee or proportion of the offer itself.

After you was accepted from a CPA program, you’ll receive an unique affiliate link, just as you would if you did join an affiliate program.

This link identifies you as an affiliate and tracks all your activity, primarily your sales and in exchange, serves you with conversion rates and other information that do help you determine how well your traffic generations are doing.

The CPA program itself takes care of all the tracking, where your account details are being stored. One of the best things about working with a CPA network is that you can promote several CPA offers, covering a wide variety of niche markets and get one commissioncheck for all of your earnings combined.

Furthermore, most CPA networks will delegate an affiliate agent to help you in getting started as well as answer any questions you may have during your initial training period.

Every CPA network offers several opportunities, the most popular programs offering up to 1,500 different offers in their database at any given time.

Furthermore, nearly all of the CPA networks supply you with many of the promotional media you need, including email campaign, banners, graphic ads, ad copy and text ads.
